VyprVPN Streaming Campaign
VyprVPN launched their app for Apple, Android, and Fire TV. This allows any user with a VyprVPN account to easily access the VPN service from any device, anywhere—and stream in complete privacy. After finalizing app screen designs with their team and the official app release, we launched an integrated marketing campaign to promote it.
The Challenge
We needed a unique way to promote VyprVPN's new app and encourage people to download it and enjoy full-privacy streaming. The challenge was getting new users to start a subscription in order to utilize the app to their full advantage. We knew we needed to encapsulate all a VPN user wants while streaming—complete privacy—and launch a message via different outlets that would garner the most attention.
Our Solution
Enter "Stream like no one is watching." We started with an initial design that would get the main message across and attract users looking for an easy way to stream online from any device and without any third parties tracking their activity. For both display ads and organic and paid social media posts, we crafted a set of concepts that played off of VyprVPN's witty tone and encouraged people to download the app or start a VyprVPN subscription if they didn't already have one.
The Results
The end result was a successful campaign launch that we still promote today for VyprVPN. We are seeing growing subscription and download rates and are continuously monitoring ways to further promote their streaming app.
A note from the designer
From the onset, we knew we wanted to be witty and funny because that is the VyprVPN brand's go-to tone. We weren't looking to be serious and politely ask people to download the app if they wanted to—we wanted to tell them that unless they wanted their streaming activity to be tracked like a diary, they needed this app, and that message was received well.
